Does AI impact my business?
At TDMP, we know many clients ask, ‘does AI impact my business?’.
In short, the answer is yes – but we ensure it impacts your business positively.
Through our digital marketing and SEO (search engine optimisation) services, we can harness the power of AI to give our clients’ websites maximum visibility and measurable results.
By using advanced AI platforms for research and analysis, our team enhances marketing strategies and optimises website performance to deliver real business impact.
With our SEO best practices and continuous website updates, we have seen more and more clients appearing in the ‘AI overview’ results on Google. Which shows that Google views the authority and content as trustworthy, useful, and that it answers the relevant questions that people are searching for.
What ‘AI’ are we talking about?
In this article, we are talking about the ‘AI overviews’ that appear on Google, and more generally, AI tools that can be used for specific tasks, like video creation.

When did AI overviews start to show on Google?
When the AI overview search results first started to show, it was a bit up and down – sometimes they had great information that was accurate and detailed, but sometimes the information was completely off-topic, and at times incorrect. Furthermore, the AI overview widget was all over the place, at times at the top of the page, to the left, the right, at the bottom and in between.
These new overviews had first been announced back in May 2023 – and we started to see a few tests in March 2024 and onward. Fast forward to October 2024, and AI overviews have been expanded to more than 100 countries worldwide.
In the past 6 months (November 2025 as of writing), we have noticed that the AI overviews are not just getting more frequent, but they appear to be more stable. By stable, we mean they now appear most frequently at the top of the search results. Replacing the ‘featured snippets’ that used to be very common in the search results.
Back in July 2024, we carried out research into how AI results affect traffic.
What information does an AI overview provide?
As mentioned above, ‘featured snippets’ had been the most prominent sections to display information on Google, that often had a link to one website, and a short snippet of information from the page. However, with AI overviews, we now see more details, and multiple sources of information.
Plus, we do not just see AI overviews for common questions and product searches, but now we are seeing them for searches around businesses and services.
Take ‘gypsol screed suppliers London’ for example, the AI overview shows several businesses listed as suppliers, and has details on each business listed, with links to the relevant page on their website.

Currently, AI overviews related to businesses and / or service-based searches show 3 cited sources (right hand side) and detail each source – with further information when you click the ‘Show more’ button.
In most cases, the overview will show at least 3 cited sources, but on many occasions, more than this will be shown, especially when the search is product related.
How do I get my website to appear in an AI overview?
Google’s AI – also known as ‘Gemini’ is scraping Google for the most accurate, trustworthy, authoritative results to show in their AI overview.
With our SEO work and marketing strategies, at TDMP we are seeing more and more clients appearing in the overviews, and not just as one of the links, but in most cases, showing as the first link – with the most information.
In the screenshot above is iMix Concrete – a long standing, and much appreciated client with TDMP.
We launched a new page for a product – Gypsol Flowing Screed. Not only did the page get indexed very quickly on Google, we also show in the AI results.
Being in the AI overview provides better visibility for the business overall, and website – providing more information for potential customers to see, which can lead to more people visiting the website, or getting in touch about a service.
There is no checklist to appear in these results, but there are several aspects that you can control that influence how Google sees your website, and if they put you in the overview.
As you can appreciate, we won’t spill our secrets here, but a strong website and ongoing SEO optimisation is one of the best strategies to get the most visibility on Google.
Using AI platforms – should you trust agencies that use AI?
Today, there are countless “AI agencies” and “AI services” promising quick solutions for almost every business challenge. While the technology is powerful, it is important to recognise that in most cases, AI is not a replacement for experience and results.
AI can be deployed as a shortcut – replacing genuine expertise and effort, with automated outputs that are often left unchecked. The result can be content or strategies that look impressive on the surface, but fail to deliver real value. Without human oversight, AI can produce generic, inaccurate, or even misleading results.
At TDMP, we take a different approach. We never rely on AI to do the work for us, however we use it to enhance our work. With research, development and strategy, AI can help us better understand our client’s sector, and provide powerful insights we can use to our advantage.
We do use AI platforms, and it’s by no means a negative thing to do. This is because any AI‑driven insight we use, is reviewed and validated by our experienced team. This ensures that the technology serves as a tool for better decision‑making and stronger outcomes, rather than a substitute for professional judgement.
AI can certainly help you achieve your business goals, but you can’t solely rely on AI.
